Valsin Broussard
Established in 1906, Broussard was named after Valsin Broussard, a prominent merchant and direct descendant of "Beausoleil" Broussard, who led the first 200 Acadians (later called "Cajuns") to Louisiana from Nova Scotia. Steeped in history and culture, our charming downtown is home to many historic homes and buildings, with 15 listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Experience authentic Cajun and Creole culture in the heart of Acadiana, where our heritage is our way of life.
